Jen Coghlan CPDT-KA

Jen adopted her first dog, Hunter, soon after moving to Calgary in 2000. He was an 11 year old shepherd/lab with arthritis and mild separation anxiety. Jen was determined to do whatever it took to give Hunter a wonderful retirement home. Since that time, she’s adopted several older dogs, all with various health and behaviour issues. Her care and attention allowed her to form a lasting bond with these dogs, filling their last years with love and security.

Between 2015 and 2020, Jen specialized in behaviour work with dogs in Humane Society shelters. Working in both Cochrane and Calgary, Jen has helped rehabilitate many seemingly unadoptable dogs, who went on to find their fur-ever homes. Jen has earned a CPDT-KA (Certified Pet Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed) and has almost a decade of experience with troubled dogs. She has dealt with a broad cross section of behaviour issues, as well as supervising dog to dog interactions.

Dogs with challenging behaviours often end up abandoned or in shelters, because their families struggled to understand their needs. Jen’s goal is to teach you how to ‘speak’ to your dog, and guide you through those challenges to build a strong, harmonious relationship.
